2023 Ford Bronco & Bronco Sport: Two New Models Celebrate 1966 Original

2023 Ford Bronco & Bronco Sport: Two New Models Celebrate 1966 Original

Ford’s original 1966 Bronco was a popular vehicle, captivating people with its off-road capability and rugged style. So different from the sleek lines seen in cars, the square design of this vehicle was a refreshing change. The Ford Bronco is being released in a Heritage and Heritage Limited model to celebrate their heritage. The same applies to the Ford Bronco Sport, although the Sport trim wasn’t available back in 1966.

1966 Original Inspired Features

Several design features from the 1966 original are incorporated into the new 2023 models, but with a modern twist. We look at the different elements you can expect to see in these cars.

Exterior Design

Exterior Design

The 1966 Original was known for its Oxford White modular hardtop roof, which is what’s delivered with the new 2023 models. The two-tone paint job ensures you get the visual reminder of the 1966 original while remaining modern and stylish. The grille is also done in Oxford White, with a unique design and red F-O-R-D lettering. Along with the bodyside stripe and Oxford White painted aluminum wheels, the car’s exterior is a definite throwback to 1966 Ford models.

The squared fenders, with fender flares in Sasquatch-width, offer another visual hint to the first Bronco. With the Heritage Limited model, you’ll have 43.18cm gloss black wheels with the traditional dog dish centres and a lip in Oxford White, delivering an old-school flare to the modern vehicle.

Paying homage to the 1996 Ford vehicle, the interior features cloth seats, front and rear floor liners, an instrument panel, and centre control badging in Oxford White. The cloth seats use Heathered Navy Pier material, plaid inserts and stitched accents in Race Red and Robin’s Egg Blue. This Navy Pier colour is heavily inspired by the seat colours available in the first model.

Paint Options

You can buy the Bronco Heritage edition in five different colours. However, the Heritage Limited editions will only be available in Robin’s Egg Blue at its launch. This colour is similar to the Arcadian Blue colour the original appeared in when released in 1966.

Later in 2023, the Heritage Limited model will become available in Yellowstone Metallic. The 1971 Original Prairie Yellow inspires this colour. In 2024, it’ll be released in Peak Blue. The Sport heritage edition is available in seven colours. However, the Heritage Limited edition will be available in the three colours mentioned above.
