What Apps are available on SYNC 3?
If you have a newer Ford vehicle, it probably comes equipped with its own version of SYNC, Ford’s infotainment and multimedia system built into your dash display. SYNC allows you to access your music, listen to satellite radio, and use your voice to make phone calls thanks to voice-activated software integrated inside SYNC.
App Access on SYNC 3
The latest generation of SYNC technology is SYNC 3, a more advanced way to access your media. You can sync up your smartphone to your vehicle, makes hands-free phone calls, and access you favorite apps all through the use of your voice or the touch screen display. The following iPhone and Android voice-activated apps are supported through SYNC 3 with AppLink:
- Spotify
- Pandora
- IHeartAuto
- MLB.com at Bat
- Glympse
- Domino’s
Voice-Activated Technology
SYNC 3 with AppLink is unique because you can control the experience with your voice. For example, if you are running Pandora and find a song you like, you can simply say “thumbs up” and the app will automatically “like” the song for you, meaning Pandora will start putting similar songs to that one in your queue. You can use your voice to skip through songs on Spotify, bring up sports podcasts, or even enter your credit card number through an app to order pizza! If you would prefer to use the touchscreen to navigate instead of your voice, you can sync up your Android device or iPhone to Ford’s SYNC 3 and access them through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
