A Look at the Latest Technological Advancements in Ford Vehicles
Posted on August 17, 2023
Ford has added a number of fun and exciting technological developments to its fleet of vehicles over the years, including navigation, safety, and driver-assistance features. Keep reading to explore all the tech you can expect in your new Ford 2023 model.
SYNC® Technology
SYNC enables you to use various features by simply using voice commands through Bluetooth. You can make calls, play music, get directions, and access a multitude of apps without having to take your eyes off the road.
When your vehicle is equipped with FordPass Connect, you can also access numerous features through an app on your mobile device. It enables you to start, unlock, or lock your vehicle from a distance. Plus, the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities allow up to 10 devices (up to 50 feet) to be connected simultaneously to the vehicle.
Driver-Assist Technologies
Ford vehicles have a host of driver-assist technologies that provide a stress-free driving experience.
BLISS is the blind-spot information system. It gives you an extra set of eyes and alerts you of any vehicles in your blind spot.
The lane-keeping assist system helps you remain in your lane while driving. The system will provide a slight vibration in the steering wheel and give visual warnings if it notices the vehicle drifting.
Adaptive cruise control (with stop-and-go technology) will slow down or speed up the vehicle based on traffic movement.
The evasive steering assist technology helps you avoid potential collisions. The system doesn’t steer on your behalf; instead, it provides support to help you manoeuvre around potential obstacles as needed.
With enhanced active park assist, your parallel parking stresses become a thing of the past. This system allows the vehicle to steer itself into parallel parking spots. Simply shift, accelerate, and brake to get into or out of tight spots.
If you’re planning to hook up a trailer, you’ll appreciate Ford’s hill descent control technology. This system makes it a cinch to maintain a set speed while driving down any hill by automatically applying the vehicle’s brakes when required.
Take any curve with confidence thanks to Ford’s curve-control technology. This system automatically detects when curves are ahead and applies the brakes automatically, slowing the vehicle down to a safer speed.
BlueCruise enables a driver-facing camera and allows you to operate in-vehicle operations hands-free.
Advance Headlamps and Cameras
When the 360-degree camera is equipped on your vehicle, you’ll have an all-around view with the help of four strategically placed cameras.
Auto high-beam headlamps enable better night driving. These headlamps will automatically turn on and off depending on night visibility and oncoming vehicles.
The rear-view camera has colour-coded lines to guide you when reversing, helping you to avoid obstacles.
Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support
This warning system will alert you of an impending collision and apply the brakes if it detects a slow response time. The system also applies the brakes following an impact.
Pedestrian Detection
The pedestrian detection system senses what’s ahead and is active at speeds between 5 km/h and 80 km/h.
Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
This technology scans the road ahead of the vehicle and will alert you of any potential hazardous collisions. The system is beneficial in situations when it applies emergency brakes automatically at speeds between 5 km/h and 120 km/h.
