Output of 2019 Ford Ranger EcoBoost Engine
Under the hood of the 2019 Ford Ranger is the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, which doles out an impressive 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This is the highest torque output of any vehicle in the midsize truck segment. The EcoBoost engine is mated to the smooth and efficient 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. No other midsize truck has a transmission with this many gears.
Towing and Payload Capabilities of 2019 Ford Ranger
With its powerful engine, Hotchkiss suspension, and high-strength steel frame, the Ranger is a towing beast, with a best-in-class maximum conventional towing capacity of 7,500 pounds (3,402 kg). The Ranger also offers a number of towing features, including a trailer brake controller, Trailer Sway Control, and the Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage. Do your adventures and jobs require you to carry a heavy load in the pickup bed? The Ranger has a best-in-class maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds (844 kg).
2019 Ford Ranger Off-Road Capabilities
The 2019 Ford Ranger enables you to travel off the beaten path with ease with its available 4WD system. You can also get the available FX4 Off-Road Package, which includes the Terrain Management System with setting for different terrains, off-road-tuned shocks, all-terrain tires, a heavy-gauge steel front bash plate, frame-mounted skid plates, and the Trail Control feature, which essentially is cruise control for off-road use.
